How To Stop Holiday Stress ASAP!

Got Holiday Stress?

Woo Hoo! The holidays are here… time to have fun with family and friends and get some R and R. But, this time of year can also bring holiday stress, especially if you’re an entrepreneur.

At work, maybe you:Reduce holiday stress

  • Must raise sales numbers by 12/31…
  • Lay off employees to cut costs…
  • Finalize year-end client reports…
  • Pay taxes…
  • Tackle a massive, “To Do” list by the end of December…

The list goes on. Plus, there is your personal list.

Perhaps, you need to:

  • Fight the crowds to find that perfect gift…
  • Balance your budget to pay a huge, credit card bill…
  • Lose weight for the office Christmas party (or that special, New Year’s date)…
  • Clean the house for guests…
  • Deal with negative family members you just don’t want to see…
  • Travel, wrap, cook, bake…

Ugh. My blood pressure is going up just thinking about it!

Well, if this sounds familiar, here is the ultimate stress reducer – Saying Thanks!

I’m not kidding.

When things start to get crazy and holiday stress takes hold, take a moment and think of the top 10 things you’re thankful for… big or small.

In addition to family, friends, health, a paycheck, and a roof over your head, maybe you are just thankful for a good cup of coffee, getting to work safely, beautiful weather, the birds chirping…

Even if you are really upset, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. Just look at all of the ugly stories about death and despair in the news, and all of a sudden, you’ll feel grateful for what you have.

If this doesn’t work, try to reach out to others. Do some volunteer work, help a charity, donate to your favorite cause, etc. You may even want to spend some time with someone who is especially sad during the holidays. Remember, for many people, this time of year brings memories of loved ones who have passed away.

If this is you, or someone you know, try to hang out with positive people and spread some cheer.

The holidays are a wonderful time, but they can be filled with stress.

When things start to get out of control, think about what you are thankful for and focus on others. You’ll enjoy the holidays that much more… and so will the people around you.

With this, I’d like to thank you for reading my blog, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and healthy and happy 2019!
